Getting past financial hardships can be overwhelming and intimidating! Don't let the idea of no other options get the best of you! There are many programs available to those that have suffered from a loss of family member, lost wages or employer shutdown. The key to remember is everything is negotiable and lenders generally want to help you!
First place to get some help is your mortgage lender. They have options like suspension payments, short sale agreements, re-financing and more to help you when facing difficult times. The thing to remember is to be pro-active and let them know ahead of time what your circumstances are. The more time you give them to figure out a solution for you, the better! Don't wait until it is too late to get in touch with them!
Secondly, all lenders, regardless if it is your car loan or credit cards want to help you so they can keep you as customers! There are furlough programs, unemployment benefits and other options depending on your state and lending company agreements. You won't know until you ask so get on the phone and ask!
Last but not least, every community has non-profit organizations and churces with programs specifically set up for those in times of need. From shelter to groceries and even some of your utility bills get in touch with your local salvation army, united way or 2-1-1 office to see what places are near by that might be able to help.
We all have been there so just remember it is nothing to be ashamed of and you most certainly should be reaching out for help any way you can get it. I pray you never have to go through hard times but should you have to I hope this helps! Let's lift each other up and make the best of this amazing life!
